Dr. Balasubramanian G, a renowned Gastroenterologist from Pela, Mavelikkara, Kerala is an expert in the field of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy with specialization in Colonoscopy, Capsule Endoscopy, High Resolution Manometry, Therapeutic GI Endoscopy and Side View Endoscopy. He offers patients the latest diagnosis and treatment methods for gastrointestinal diseases through Digestive Disease Centre (DDC), a self established Endoscopy unit in Mavelikkara. One unique feature of this centre is that this is first-of-a-kind independent ambulatory endoscopy unit located in Central Travancore.

Dr. Balasubramanian accomplished his MBBS graduation from Madurai Medical College (Madurai) in the year 1994, subsequent to which he served as a Medical Officer in a Government Primary Health Centre for a period of 2 years. Succeeding this, Dr. Balasubramanian finalized his postgraduation in Internal Medicine from Madras Medical College (Chennai) in 2001. This was followed by joining Kilpauk Medical College (Chennai) as a Tutor in Medicine later graduating to the rank of an Assistant Professor in Medicine attached to the Cardiology ICU unit. Thereafter, Dr. Balasubramanian went for specialization in Medical Gastroenterology in Kilpauk Medical College, in the year 2007. On completion of his specialist training, Dr. Balasubramanian worked as a Junior Consultant in Gastroenterology at PVS Hospital, Ernakulam. He further chose to enhance his speciality skills through ERCP training undertaken at Jaswant Rai Hospital, Meerut prior to working independently as a Consultant Gastroenterologist with VSM Hospital, Mavelikkara during the period 2008 to 2013. In the course of this time interval, Dr. Balasubramanian was exposed to a wide and diverse experience in various procedures associated with his area of speciality.

Backed by a plethora of experience, Dr. Balasubramanian next set his mind on laying the foundation of the above mentioned centre that presently offers dedicated gastrointestinal diagnosis and treatment with convenient, economical, high quality endoscopy services to outpatients.
